History
The EU-Korea Conference on Science and Technology (EKC) brings together engineers and scientists from nine European countries as well as Korea to discuss recent progress and future trends in Science and Technology.
EKC 2012 will be held in the heart of Europe of Berlin in Germany from 26th to 28th July, 2012, co-hosted by Korean Scientists and Engineers Association Germany (VeKNI) and the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies (KOFST). EKC 2012 will be the 5th conference in a series that started in Heidelberg (Germany) 2008 which has been co-organized by the Korean Scientists and Engineers Association in Germany (VeKNI), in UK (KSEAUK), in France (ASCoF) and in Austria (KOSEAA).
EKC 2012 follows the successful tradition of the previous meetings in Reading (England) 2009, in Vienna (Austria) 2010 and last year in Paris (France). On average, the EKC has attracted 500 – 600 participants annually.
Over 3,000 Korean Members are widely distributed over 9 nations in Europe. EKC 2012 will set out to provide a place for the discussion on various issues about science and technology. It will offer a unique opportunity for networking between scientists/engineers in Europe and Korea.
EKC 2012 will contribute to promoting bilateral exchange between governments, institutes, universities and industries in Europe and Korea. It will also set out to encourage mutual understandings between Korea and Europe and to cultivate friendship between the Korean scientists and engineers in Europe and Korea for the future.
